From the Artist:
““Right along the lough shore, a smoke of flies drifts thick in the Sunset.”
At Ardboe Point, Seamus Heaney circa 1970
Fifty years on and the description is as apt. Ardboe famed for its Cross and music and more I happened on with my fellow traveller some weeks before Lockdown, on an old-fashioned Sunday drive. Not a million miles away from my place of birth I had always wanted to visit. We reached this view taking a no-entry side road and I knew it was passable..
These two paintings of the sun as it was glistening, singing and setting on the shores of Lough Neagh were a joy to make. Acrylic on black linen and a lot of love.”
Geralyn Mulqueen, Irish Artist, based in Downpatrick Co Down, Ireland.
Geralyn uses colour spontaneously in the emotional translation and captures the essence of reflection and emergence uniquely felt by the individual. The pieces are vital and honest, always allowing for movement and growth. Geralyn has exhibited across Europe – Berlin, London, Paris and Dublin, The MAC in Belfast 2019, Dubai 2020. Featured artist 2019 Stendhal Festival.
