From the Artist:
“The second in a series of oil paintings; the first, a commission, housed happily now on the outskirts of Dublin. It’s hard to know whether the lough or the swans or the hedgerows spoke to me first but once discovered Brantry finds a settling place in you heart. My first art studio was within a stones throw, in Benburb. I took over 10 years to find my way back and to walk the lough for the first time in 2018 was a find.
This piece I made last year and I am including it in the charting of the local landscape which inspires me.
Soft palette with knife and brush to incorporate a hint of turquoise.”
